“It was a house without kindness, never meant to be lived in, not a fit place for people or for love or for hope. Exorcism cannot alter the countenance of a house; Hill House would stay as it was until it was destroyed.”
― Shirley Jackson, The Haunting of Hill House
You must be living under the rocks to have not known about The Haunting Of Hill house.
The most spine-chilling horror flick of Netflix, The Haunting Of Hill House is spooky enough to give you a week of sleepless nights!
Whatever you do, don't hide under the bed! I'm still having nightmares after that scene #HauntingOfHillHouse of Luke under the bed.

The wicked first season is an adaptation of the 1959 titular novel by one of the most celebrated authors of this era, Shirley Jackson.
Netflix’s 10-episode series is about the wretched Crain family haunted & terrorized by an evil force inside of the Hill House.
For those who haven’t watched the series yet, here’s a quick recap of the 1st season.
A complex family drama fused with the horrors of an evil spirit in the most spectacular way that only Jackson can present through her work of fiction.
The season unfolds as the Crain family shift into an old mansion called Hill House for the summer. The plot shifts between two chronologies, one that shows the horror-struck siblings terrified by the evil forces at the Hill House on the very day & the other brings a series of flashbacks depicting the night when the family fled from the mansion to save themselves from the horror of the mansion.
As the episodes unwrap, we get a glimpse of the Crain family that summer after they step into the Hill House.
The kids start getting creeped out from the very moment of entering the mansion as they figure that there is something extremely weird about the house.
Luke befriends an imaginary friend that he swears is real, Nell and Shirley are amused by a secret room & wants to unleash the secrets of the “red room“, the family is terrified by the malicious presence in the Hill House that certainly doesn’t want to spare the family anytime soon.
Panic creeps in as Hugh tries to save his family & escape from the Hill House but Olivia goes missing mysteriously.
Filled with a terrible series of unexplained events, The Haunting Of Hill House has a lot more to tell. Watch it for yourself to unleash the horror but proceed at your own risk!
Just watched #Occulus (featuring the wonderful @karengillan) for the 1st time since the cinema. Interesting in hindsight to see how much of a proto #HauntingOfHillHouse it is, children grown up in the shadow of the supernatural, the neat interweaving of past & present etc #horror

What’s more to look forward to?
The second season will be loosely based on The Turn of the Screw which has been adapted a lot of times by various creators. The new season promises tons of scary moments to look forward to.
The Crain family has gone through a lot of demises already but the Hill House stores in a lot more secrets that need to be unleashed & the spirit do not seem to be resting anytime soon!
When will season 2 release?

The fans were treated with a surprise when the first season was aired during Halloween & since the production for the latter is almost done, we can expect the release of the second season this year almost around the same time.
It makes me so happy when storytellers respect their characters enough to know when their story is complete. The Crain saga was perfect the way it was. Well done! If Hill House became an anthology, I’d love to follow a new story. I’ll watch whatever you make. 👏🏻👏🏻
