What comes to your mind when you hear the word “Superhero”? Let me answer that for you, a superhero is often thought to be a good character, typically helping the world become a better place, who uses all their power & is ready to fight all the odds to protect the world & its people by stopping evil.
But what happens when the heroes become all badass and start abusing their powers? Eric Kripke & Garth Ennis bring us “The Boys”-a superhero fiction based on the comic book series of the same name premiered on Amazon prime is a dark comedy, action fiction, where the “superheroes” head out on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the Seven and Vought, the multibillion-dollar compound that manages the superheroes. The 1st season was premiered on 26th July 2019, soon turned out to be a massive hit for the streaming service.
Announcement of Season 2:
Looking at the overwhelming response of the viewers soon after its launch, the renewal of the second season was announced by Amazon much before the first season was aired. Jennifer Salke, Head of Amazon Studios, said: “We are thrilled that “The Boys” have surpassed our predictions for viewing in its first two weeks, and has become one of our most-watched Amazon Original series by our Prime Video customers. “This creates great momentum and excitement for us as we get ready for season two.”
The core cast from season one remains unchanged, including favorites like Karl Urban (Billy Butcher), Jack Quaid (Hughie), Erin Moriarty (Starlight), and Chace Crawford (The Deep) along with some of the major characters who died could also appear again in flashbacks.

Making her entry in “The Boys” team, actor Aya Cash will play a gender-flipped version of the hero who will be playing the character Stormfront, the newest member of the famous superhero team The Seven. “She’s the grenade that gets thrown into Homelander’s world and the world of the Seven,” Antony Starr, who plays The Seven’s not-so-sane leader, Homelander, told EW. “She causes me so many problems.”

Kripke has further confirmed that Patton Oswalt will be joining the cast too in an undisclosed role.

The official date for the release of “The Boys” Season 2:
“The Boys” came out to be a wide shock to the eyes of the viewer with its 1st season & certainly deserved a round of applause for its unique approach in the world of so-called superheroes.
It gained its spot to be the most anticipated show now coming back with its season 2. Prime showed high confidence in the series as they announced a season two for the show even before it was premiered. Amazon is yet to decide the official date of premiering season 2, but we do know that it might just drop in the mid-2020s.
