We all need a good laugh every once in a while, and comedy shows are a perfect way to enjoy yourself, or spend some good time with your closest ones. I’ve compiled a list of some of the best classics when it comes to comedy, so if you have enough free time, you might want to give them a shot.
Scrubs is one of the most relaxing American comedy TV shows that aired in March 2001 on NBC. The storyline revolves around the famous hospital Sacred Heart and its medical staff. The punchline – the actual scrubs are the main characters – young interns and doctors who face hilarious tasks in terms of love, drama, and hard work. Even if you’re not interested in medicine, the whole show is filled with various other aspects.
The Big Bang Theory
The premiere of “The Big Bang Theory” was on the 24th of September 2007, and most teenagers have at least heard of this majestic show. The famous characters – Leonard, Sheldon, and Penny are the main reason why the show got famous. They spin interesting quotes and punchlines without too much effort, and it’s safe to say that there’s a lot you can learn while you giggle and laugh alongside them. Definitely one of the best shows of America.
How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother aired on the 19th of September 2005, and it’s one of the best comedy sitcoms of all time. The leading characters take turns to explain how they got to that certain point in the episode, which is often comical, but, sometimes, it brings about a rain of tears. All in all, this TV show involves a lot of healthy humor, and I highly recommend it.
Married with Children
Married with Children is old, but gold. This live-action TV show aired on the 5th April of 1987, but don’t get the wrong picture – even though the standards of humor changed, this show is packed with irony, sarcasm, and a lot of giggle-inducing punchlines. Al Bundy (the father) is portrayed as the regular work-class husband who’s struggling with the same problems most fathers and husbands face, but the way he does it will make you laugh every time. Definitely worth watching
Only Fools and Horses
I’ve saved the best for last – Only Fools and Horses is absolutely the best comedy TV show of all time. People who love British humor already know this, but if you’ve missed out on this amazing show, you simply have to watch at least one episode, and all will be made clear.
The storyline is set in the southeast part of London (Peckham, precisely), where Del Boy and Rodney (two mischievous brothers) try to get rich in various comical ways. Their main quote is well-known across the globe “By this time next year, we will be millionaires”, and it kind of sums up the entire show for you. Eventually, they do become filthy rich.
